The Marathi industry, apart from stressing on content-driven films, is swiftly identifying the need of making a powerful first impression on the audience. And in doing so, a lot of attention is being paid to coming up with intriguing first look posters of the films. Not only have these posters been successful in creating a buzz about the films but due to the mystery being kept intact, the amount of curiosity among viewers is high as well. Here are some of the recently released first looks and the idea behind them.
TP2
A lot of time has passed and Dagdu and Prajakta are now grown ups in love. But which actors play the grown up lovers is still a secret, thanks to director Ravi Jadhav’s clever poster which has the actors’ faces covered. “We wanted to retain that secret to create curiosity,” said Jadhav. Commenting on the rise of such posters in the Marathi cinema, he added, “Nowadays filmmakers prefer using content-oriented posters rather than actor-oriented ones. But in the end it depends on what your film’s subject is. Featuring the cast on the poster in case of multi-starrer comedy films might work well but otherwise the drift is more towards using elements from the film on the poster to create a buzz. Also colours play an important role. We used lot of bright colours in the 'TP2' poster as the film is about youth and love.”
